See Hospital Hours 2. Do I need to have an appointment? Yes, we do prefer that patients are seen by appointment. 3. What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, Check, Mastercard, Visa and Discover card. 4. Can I make payments? Payment is always required at the time of service. 5. At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered? Spaying is recommended prior to the first heat which is between 4-6 months of age. Castration can be done as early as 4 months of age. Your pet is given an examination prior to surgery to help determine if he/she is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery. 6. What is the pre-anesthetic blood screening? This is a blood test that is run prior to a surgical procedure. It tests the organ functions, blood counts and blood clotting function of your pet. The pre-anesthetic blood screening is done as a safety measure to assure that your pet will have an unremarkable recovery. 7. Is it a good idea to let my pet have at least one litter? No, there is no advantage to letting your pet have one litter. However there are plenty of advantages to having your pet spayed or neutered. These advantages include decreasing the chances of breast tumors, decreasing the chance of cystic ovaries and uterine infections, decreasing the desire to roam the neighborhood, decreasing the incidence of prostate cancer and hyperplasia (enlarge prostate), helping prevent spraying and marking, and also decreases the surplus of unwanted puppies and kittens. 8. Do you board pets? Unfortunately, we do not do boarding. 9. What are your kennels like? We have 3 different size indoor kennels ranging from Small, for small pets; medium, for medium to large breed dogs; indoor and outdoor runs, for extra large dogs such as Great Danes, Mastiffs or Borzois. |
